Dating back to 1983, the Asia Cup is an international cricket tournament that takes place biennially. The Indian cricket team has had the most success in the competition, winning four times and taking part in each final except 1986 and 2000 which they boycotted. Other cricket national powers who participate are Sri Lanka and Pakistan, as well as Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong. The teams are divided into two groups of three sides, with one in group A and the other in group B. Each side in each group plays each other once and the three sides in each group play each other once, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the second phase, where they will again play each other once. The top two teams will battle it out in the final.
