The first leg of the Copa Libertadores sees Quito hold home advantage over Fluminense hoping to make the high altitude count just a week before these two clash in the Maracana for the culmination of South America's premier club tournament. Neither of these sides have won the competition before, in fact this is the first time either will have been to the final. Fluminense start as favourites simply because they are Brazilian and traditionally produce better teams than Ecuador. These two sides met in the group stages of the competition, the first game in Quito was a 0-0 draw and Fluminense won the second in Rio 1-0. Fluminense saw off last years winners Boca Juniors to get to the final whilst LDU beat America of Mexico on away goals.
