Michael Carrick fires in a shot for Manchester United (gettyimages.com)
Arsenal go into their game against the champions with the pressure really starting to mount on boss Arsene Wenger. Following disappointing defeats against Fulham and Hull City earlier in the season, the Gunners were surprisingly beaten by Stoke City at the weekend to leave them six points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea and Liverpool. Another slip-up here against rivals Manchester United - currently in third and with a game in hand - could be the final nail in the coffin for their title hopes. United will be hoping their defence holds a bit firmer than it did against Hull, when they ran out 4-3 winners in a nail-biting match thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo (2), Nemanja Vidic and fit-again Michael Carrick. The Gunners go into the game in terrible shape with Adebayor (ankle), Eboue (knee) and Van Persie (suspended) definitely out and Walcott, Gallas, Sagna and Silvestre all doubtful. United, meanwhile, are pretty much at full strength with Wes Brown the only real doubt.
