It has been a lively few days for Roy Keane and Sunderland as they prepare for their second consecutive season in the Premier League. Teemu Tainio and Pascal Chimbonda have joined from Spurs to add quality and experience to a side that were battling relegation last season. Irishman David Meyler has also signed from Cork City and he will be eager to join up with the other Irish players at the club. Sunderland produced a fine win over Sporting Lisbon during their tour of Portugal and they will be hoping for a similar result against Colin Calderwood's Nottingham Forest. The former two times European Cup winners drew with Everton in a pre-season friendly last week and they will be looking to put in another good performance against Premier League opposition.
