Fatih Terim's Turkish side have been the major surprises of Euro 2008 and their never say die attitude has lit up the tournament and propelled them into the last four. They were trailing in their last group game against the Czech Republic and thanks to a Petr Cech error and two goals from star striker Nihat they progressed to the quarters. There they met Croatia and looked to be heading out after conceding a last minute goal in extra time. But they responded with a goal from Semih Senturk and saw off the Croatians on penalties. Germany will fancy their chances of making a first European Championship final since Euro 96 after beating the much-fancied Portugal in the last round. Michael Ballack in particular has been in fine fettle and Bastian Schweinsteiger was the key man against Luiz Felipe Scolari's men and Germany will be thankful they don't have to face Croatia who beat them in the group stage.
