Drivers and fans alike are gearing up for the toughest and most exciting challenge on the F1 circuit this year when the Belgian Grand Prix opens this September. Spa-Francorchamps is notorious for its fast and hilly twists and turns through the Ardennes, and unpredictable weather changes which can hit separate parts of the course at any time. Drivers are bracing themselves for the famous l’Eau Rouge / Raidillon, whose bottom corner downforce sends them flying round at record speeds of over 300km/h, before being flung up into a series of sharp twisting corners and blind summits. They must also contend with the ‘Blanchimont’, one of the most formidable high speed turns in F1, in the ultimate and most respected test of driving skill. Three-time undefeated champion Kimi Räikkönen has the secret of Spa-Francorchamps in his blood, as did Michael Schumacher before him, which the others are eager to unlock this season.
