The 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is winding down as the Pep Boys Auto 500 gets underway at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. This race has seen many historical moments over the years, but perhaps none bigger than in 1992 when racing legend Richard Petty took to the track for the very last time at the same moment future star Jeff Gordon made his debut. Jimmie Johnson first won here in 2004 and is the current champion after his victory here in 2007. Atlanta Motor Speedway always makes for a fun race, as it is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.
