Autumn is in the air as the NASCAR TUMS QuikPak 500 kicks off at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. This race has been dominated over the last few years by Jimmie Johnson, who first won here in 2004 and is now in hot pursuit of his third straight victory after back to back wins in 2006 and 2007. This will be the sixth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. The track at Martinsville is the shortest one drivers will encounter during the season and is a mix of long open stretches and very flat, tight turns that will test the skill of the drivers.
