The Autodromo Nazionale Monza has been a classic fixture in F1 ever since the first Formula 1 Championship was run in 1950, and has carried the same respect and prestige through to the present day. Best known for its long straight stretches, Monza is synonymous with pure horsepower and adrenalin pumping speed, which requires a delicate balance of steering to counter the risk of understeer and oversteer in different sections of the circuit. Fernando Alonso had just the right balance last year, racing for McLaren, in the wake of Michael Schumacher's retirement in 2006. Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen have also seen victories at the prestigious event in previous years, and are back for more this season.

Formula 1 returns to Istanbul Park for the 4th edition of the Turkish Grand Prix this May. Turn 8's fast sweeping corner has thrown many a driver off track, but set Filipe Massa back on track for a career turnaround after his second consecutive Turkish GP win last season. In for a hat trick to move him out of fourth position, he'll be keeping a close eye on teammate Kimi Raikkonen who currently leads the pack after his star performance in Barcelona. It was a sensationally dramatic end to April. Crashes, collisions, technical failure and debris were just the beginning. A sudden tyre deflation sent Heikki Kovalainen head-on into a tyre wall at 140mph, and McLaren and fans are hoping to see him back behind the wheel this May. Fernando Alonso was also forced out of the running on lap 25 due to engine fire, which relegated him to tenth position, and returns with a vengeance to Istanbul Park. The season is truly underway and the sparks are running wild. Formula 1 on the edge is back.
