The 2008 US Open could reveal permanent shifts in the men's hierarchy. Rafael Nadal climbed the rankings and will enter the Open as the world's new number one. It's quite an accomplishment considering he knocked off Roger Federer who was ranked number one for a record of 237 consecutive weeks. Some think that we are witnessing the changing of the guards. That is fair to say due to Nadal's recent dominance and Federer's inconsistent performances. But one shouldn't forget that Federer is the four time defending US Open champion. There is also room to mention Novak Djokovic in this rivalry. The 21 year old should also be a serious contender at Flushing Meadows, New York. Djokovic won this years Australian Open and was last years runner up at the US Open, proof that his best tennis comes on the hard court surface. Of the "Big Three," who will be the King of Queens?
