The Qatar Telecom German Open starting after the first week in May will match up top female tennis players on the traditional outdoor clay courts of the LTCC Rot-Weiss. One of the oldest women’s tournaments on the WTA tour, the event still holds a top tier I status and is a practice run for the approaching French Open at the end of May. Previous champions include Ana Ivanovic of Serbia, Nadia Petrova and Justine Henin-Hardenne.
