Runner up Fernando Gonzalez of Chile after he lost in straight sets to Rafael Nadal of Spain in the final 2007 (GettyImages)
The ATP Masters Series moves to Rome with the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Held annually and played on clay courts the event is seen as a build up to the French Open. ATP World No. 2 Rafael Nadal became only the first player in the Open era to win three consecutive Rome titles from 2005-2007. He now has a perfect 17-0 record at the event and will be looking to continue that form in 2008. Last years’ runner up Fernando Gonzalez will no doubt be amongst the fray once again as will the hot player of 2008, Novak Djokovic.
