Still a relatively new event on the WTA tour, the Banka Koper Slovenia Open is still trying to make a name for itself and attract the top women's players. The tournament is a Tier IV competition and is held in Portoroz, Slovenia and played on outdoor hard courts. The story so far has centered around the play of the homecountry favorite Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik. She has reached the finals twice, losing in the 2005 grand opening and falling short once again in 2007 to current French champion Tatiana Golovin. Will this finally be the year she can raise the victory trophy in triumph?
