Roger Federer will be going for his fifth consecutive U.S. Open title in Queens, New York. If successful, Federer would also equal Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras for the most number of Men's Singles titles won since 1968. Further, Federer's 27-match win streak at the U.S. Open is an Open Era record which he currently shares with Ivan Lendl. Can he bounce back in New York after his recent fall from being the world's number one player? The final Grand Slam of the season would be his chance for redemption. The women's side will be guaranteed a new champion because 2007 winner Juntine Henin retired earlier this year.
